JOY RIDE FROM NEW DELHI TO SHIMLA via KALKA
- catching sunrise in India. Few miles after departing from Sarai Rohilla train station, the train took its first stop.
-
The station was normally packed with people waiting for the next train. And some people do their living in station like this by selling good Indian style breakfast.
To get to Shimla, we need to jump off into toy train in Kalka. A 5-hour 90km ride would take you through you into some of the most magnificent hilly views you have ever seen. Those 5 hours flashed by real quick as you were mesmerized by the unique view of the Shivalik hills and the towns it passed by . BuiltĀ in 1903 to connect the summer capital of India to Punjab, this railway is a must try once you are in northern side.
With over 800 bridges and 100 tunnels (understandable as it crosses between hills), it made the journey even more breathtaking. And photographers would try to take their best shot anywhere along the journey.
